Co-leading as an Act of Rebellion

Dr. Ashley Marshall is a researcher, advocate, and the Co-Founder and Senior Director of Sustainability & Emergence at Forward Justice. Her interests are community leadership and transformation, and Black women’s leadership in political, community, and movement spaces. Her piece “Co-leading as an Act of Rebellion'' explores the praxis of co-leadership, focusing on shared leadership as an intentional practice to disrupt hierarchical models of individual leadership that have been traditionally celebrated by what bell hooks termed the imperialist white supremacy capitalist patriarchy.
